In our first guest lecture for 2004 we are pleased to welcome Fabienne Goux Baudiment from France to AFI.

During her university studies, Fabienne entered into a lifelong commitment to being a futurist. In her KBFS article she says- "I realised...I was born for future studies, because this discipline tried to answer questions I had always asked myself....It was obvious that I would have to understand the world before I could change it!"

Fabienne then took stock of what she wanted to do and what she could do and embarked on a journey of mapping out her professional life as one which would have three phases
- 10 years devoted to learning about the futures field by studying with the best futurists
- 10 years making her own contribution to the futures field
- 10 years spreading this knowledge to the largest possible audience.

Fabienne is now in the midst of this journey and we are privileged to have her come and speak to us. She has studied and worked with "renowned personalities" including Jacques Lesourne, Michel Godet, Thierry Gaudin, Hughes de Jouvenel and Eleonara Massini.

During this AFI guest lecture, Fabienne will talk about the formation of euroPerspective as a collective voice for foresight, the French and European foresight scene in general, the French concept of "prospective" and her own derivation of this in her consulting work with Progective that has these dimensions
- "taking an operational prospective" - based on linking the economy and strategy
- using an orientation towards problem solving but with a higher level of conceptualisation that allows humanism to feature amongst proposed solutions
- opening up to everyone an intuitive, inductive, integrative and creative dimension.
