Future of Foresight - Workshop 2
29th April 2004
This was the second "Future of Foresight" workshop for 2004 where our community comes together to define our medium to longer term future as a collective. In this workshop the focus moved to the issue of what vision our collective shares. This workshop was facilitated by Nick Price, David Geddes and Ian Wood.
Process Used
The Future of Foresight - Building a Shared Vision for our Foresight Community
This action learning workshop involved:
* Collecting the AFI "Social Holon's" input into the preferred vision for the Student/Alumni foresight community
* Introducing the use of Visioning processes and the Minto thinking process through an active & participative approach
* Creating a more advanced starting point for the next facilitator team to progress development of this vision
* Reflective discussion on how the tools and overall process were applied
The evening was a great success and enjoyed by all present, with a number of futures tools and techniques being applied.
Outputs from this workshop
This powerpoint presentation is a precis of the visioning process slides used during the workshop. It contains a list of references for all the tools and approaches used. It also highlights by use of a "futures triangle" how the first workshop's activities centred on the "weight of the past" and the "push of the present", rather than the "pull of the future" - highlighting the need to focus more strongly on our collective vision.
