Futurist Kate Delaney

Heaven Sent or Hell Bent? Words of wisdom from one of Australia's most reknowned practising Futurists

Kate Delaney is a Futurist with Delaney and Associates and has worked on futures projects with organisations and government in Australia and New Zealand for the past decade. She shared with us her approach to futures projects and problems, her impressions of working in the industry, and her reflections on life as a professional Futurist. Kate then opened the floor to questions and discuss issues relevant to futures students and practitioners.

About Kate Delaney

Kate Delaney is Director of Delaney and Associates and also Director of Strategic Foresight, Business Resilience Group. Kate offers strategic advice, analysis and innovative thinking to government, corporate and non-government decision-makers and planners internationally. She helps client organizations facing complex decisions develop their judgment about the future strategic environment. She engages with clients in their exploration of strategic change, discontinuity, uncertainty, and paradoxes to generate insight and to set direction so that their organizations can achieve their strategic aims. Kate also helps clients build new strategic and transition management approaches.

Kate has a decade of experience as a futurist and strategist and, is currently undertaking a PHD in Strategy in local government, at Victoria University, Wellington, NZ. Kate also has a number of other qualifications including a Master of Arts in Public Administration and professional standing with various professional associations that represent her industry.
